Dixie Bull is reputed to be engaging in piracy.
November 21, 1632
Gov. John Winthrop dispatches an expedition led by Samuel Maverick to capture Bull, a fur trader from the Penobscot area later described by Peter Holloran as New England’s first pirate. But the subsequent two-month effort to bring Bull back to Boston proves unsuccessful.
